Scroll on down to see an excellent photo of Chief Snider and his daughter Jolyn. The beads that Chief Snider is wearing (around his neck) and the longer necklace are called "trader beads" and are the real deal. These beads were purchaced by, for instance, the Hudson's Bay Company. They were traded to the Indians for goods and services, and were bought by the barrel-full just for the purpose of trade. Read the article and learn a little about what the Chinook plan for the Lewis & Clark Bi-centennial.
