Rasalon---

Welcome aboard!!

Of course the Chinook People believed in Spirits. If they believed in a "Supreme" Creator Being (or Spirit), is open for discussion.

This site is not "our" site. It is Mr. Greene's site. I, for one, am a squatter hereabouts. Once the Official Chinook Web-site gets their own board off and running, I'll be long gone.

I started posting here because there were/are so many young people who come here looking for some information or help with a school report or paper of some kind. I am convinced that for many, this is the only game in town. I am also convinced that if the shoe were on the other foot, the teachers would not assign the Chinooks as a report topic for anyone.

Like Tenas said: You cannot find anything of any meaning in a primary source arena like a Public Library. On the 'Net, Chinook info is sparce. The journals to which Tenas refers to, are out there (or reprints are out there) and they may be in your local Library, but you'd have to have Tenas right there with you, to separate the wheat from the chaff. And there's a lot of chaff. Imagine wading through a large volume (journal) and finding only one small entry about the Chinook--and it said that they were naked, thieving, savages.

See what I mean?
